The billiards club at Voyager RV Resort near Vail Arizona hosted our travel team on January 29th, 2022. A competition followed by lunch made for a fun outing. QCBC travel team: Bill Orr, Pat Nigro, Dennis Desmond, John Andersen, Mike Ohrel, Jim Di Martino, Jim Gaines, Jerry Sameshima.
Congratulations to Skip Jones for winning first place in the QCBC Straight Pool Tournament! One-on-one matches were played through March and April.
The Billiards Room in the Madera Clubhouse is scheduled to be closed on April 15th in preparation for extensive remodeling and expansion. Billiards tables will be removed on April 15th. Construction is scheduled to begin on May 1st. The room is anticipated to be closed until October 1st.
Mike Ohrel brings home gold, John Andersen silver, and Jim Gaines bronze medals for 8-ball matches held at the Senior Olympic Festival. Congratulations to them and kudos to all our members who competed in the event on January 25, 2022 at Pockets in Tucson.
Since our billiards room will be under construction for several weeks this year and since the club funds are sufficient to keep us going, the QCBC board voted to suspend annual dues for members who paid dues in 2019, 2020 or 2021. In 2022 we will collect $10 per person for new applications.
The board is really excited about the expansion of our billiards facilities and will work hard at making this transition as smooth as possible.

Congratulations to Tom O’Dierno for winning the QCBC 10 Ball event on August 10, 2021. Jerry Sameshima took second place while sharing third place were John Andersen and Skip Jones.
John Andersen took first place and Jimmy Di Martino took 2nd.

Tournament chairs Dennis Desmond of Quail Creek and David Kroth of Green Valley Recreation held an event on July 17, 2021. Both teams had 24 wins and 24 losses. QCBC team members who competed were Mike Ohrel, John Andersen, Tommy O’Dierno, Jimmy Di Martino,
Terry Haggart, Skip Jones and Dennis Desmond.
